Gilly B, Yelland

“Friendly staff and excellent food. Always seems clean and tidy and food cooked whilst you wait!
Moved into the area 11 years ago and have frequented the shop ever since.
Locally caught specials at weekends.”

“This is the best chippie in the whole area. I call in every week or, if not passing, make a special trip from Northam.
I tried them all when I first moved here. There are several nearer to me but they don't compare. There are one or two that may be similar in food quality but they are more expensive, have longer waits, no parking, etc, etc.
It's not only me, they have just won another award.”

“A lovely portion of fish -(you havent got to search for the fish amongst all the batter!) Most weekends they have locally caught fish specials which i like. Always freshly cooked. A friendly family run business. Always clean and tidy.”

North Tawton Reviews

“Great every time lovely fish great chips friendly service”

pat - Crediton

“We don't buy our fish and chips in Oke. I would rather spend the 15 minutes driving to North Tawton to get them because the quality is far superior. I go for large cod and chips with mushy peas and curry sauce and it's great every time. Staff are friendly, although parking can be an issue in such a small village. The food is freshly cooked and really well done. As well as the usual cod, haddock and battered sausage, there is a range of burgers now on sale. You can also get cheesy chips. There is also a Graylings in Barnstaple. Can't recommend it highly enough.”

“It really is worth the drive out from Okie to experience the finest fish and chips for miles. You'll have to wait, because they cook to order, but there's usually a friendly crowd to wait with - and when your meal arrives, well, Wow. Best eaten in the car straight from the paper - never the same by the time you get them home.”
