Graylings fish and chip shop was first established in 1994 in North Tawton by the Grayling family.

In 2005 North Tawton Graylings opened a restaurant which seats up to 26 people.

Following the success of our first shop we decided to open a second shop in Fremington near Barnstaple in 1999.

The shops are run by mum and dad John and Joan and three brothers John, Martin and Lee and Lee’s wife Sarah.

After both shops undergoing a refurbishment and re branding the businesses are going from strength to strength and growing a large customer base. Fremington Graylings now offer freshly made coffees and hot chocolate.

Because we are a small family run business we can keep an eye on every detail and ensure the best possible service is being given. Our customers are very important to us as we offer very high standards and excellent customer services.

We have won North Devon’s best fish and chip shop for 3 years in a row (2011 – 2013) which we are extremely proud of. In October 2014 we came first place in the Excellence In Customer Service category, 2nd in Small Business of the Year and 3rd in Family Run Business of the Year in the North Devon Journal Food & Awards. We are very proud of our achievements. We have featured in the guardian newspaper, Devon life magazine, regularly in local newspapers and many more magazines.

We can also cater for your functions and private events. We have provided catering for Birthday parties, Weddings, Church events, Wine Clubs and Twinning Meetings. Please contact us for further details.

Our friendly and dedicated family run team pride ourselves on quality, shop cleanliness and high standards. We are proud of our 5* Scores on the Door for food hygiene and are members of the Federation of Fish Fryers and North Devon Plus Food and Drink.
